How It Works
Your portrait experience from beginning to end.
There are several choices of session type so I recommend thinking about the end result you are hoping to achieve first and then choosing the session which best suits. Explore my sessions page to help or contact me for a chat.
If you know you would like a beautiful large wall portrait of your child, a studio session will probably work best. If you would like a storybook album to capture your family's story at this point in your lives I would definitely recommend a lifestyle session.
Prices can vary greatly from photographer to photographer so I would like to be clear upfront. When you invest in a session with me you pay a booking deposit which varies depending upon the type of session. This covers my time and expertise, your session and cinematic gallery viewing are all included in this fee. Please be aware that no digital files are included at this price but I do have gift experiences, offers and competitions which may include portrait art.
I know it can be tempting to choose your photographer based on price but when we work together you invest in my time and I'm invested in you and your family, not just to capture the moment but to transform it into portrait art you will cherish forever. This is why I offer a no obligation consultation to ensure you are 100% confident that I'm the photographer for you.
Choosing Your Session
During Your Session
I'm sorry to say this Mums and Dads but your children will probably listen to me more than they do to you and we are much more likely to achieve a great result if you take a step back, relax and have fun. I'll utilise all my tricks and games (and yes maybe even a little bribery) to get the best portraits we can.
We will have already discussed things like style and what you would like to achieve before your session so we will have a plan and since I'm taking charge during our time together you can just relax and enjoy some quality family time.
You might be wondering what happens if your child is just having a really bad day? Please don't worry, I've worked with many children and can usually bring them around but if I can't I'll happily reschedule and try again at another time, after all I'm invested in you and I want ensure you fall in love with the end result.
P.S. My one rule during any session grown ups is please don't ask your child to smile. Asking someone to smile at the camera, especially children, results in 'The Cheese Face' and trust me it does not look good on anyone.
After Your Session
Once the session is over your portrait experience doesn't end.
We will schedule a gallery viewing within 2 weeks of your session. This will take place in my home studio, I ask that all decision makers attend and the children do not. The viewing will be much easier and quicker if it is adults only but as a parent I realise this can be tricky sometimes so if you think childcare will be a problem please discuss this with me at the time of booking.
During your gallery viewing I will guide you through a process to discover the portraits you adore and the best art products for your home. I have a variety of Collections which offer the best value or you can choose from an 'Al-a-Carte' selection. I can also offer payment plans and interest free credit to help you purchase the portrait art of your dreams.
Once you've made your selections and are happy with everything we finalise the order, payment is made and you can sit back and relax knowing your Portrait Art will arrive in 3-4 weeks. All this only takes about 1 hour of your time, no fuss, no stress and no digital files sitting on a usb for years to come! You have your beautiful, quality portraits proudly displayed to make your house a home and heirlooms to pass on to future generations.
